I had emergency surgery for a strangulated hernia and bowel obstruction on Thursday, May 26. I am still hospitalized, and am only allowed clear liquids or be on a very restricted diet. There is a chance that I may be released tomorrow or Wednesday and may still be on a liquid only diet. What do I do about the Passover Seder? Mrs. Michael Varon

Here is a haggadah with the minimum requirements highlighted. https://kashrut.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/הגדה-של-פסח.pdf
Refuah Sheleima!
No need to do anything if you are not up to it.
You can do the minimum, if you are up to it, or any part therof.
The minimum:
pour 1 cup of wine
Make Kiddush.
Read until אֲשֶׁר גְּאָלָנוּ
and drink Cup #2
Then Eat Matzah and Eat Marror
Then you can drink the third cup
Then say a few Pesukim of Halel and
you can then drink the fourth cup.
Use grape juice and each cup should be about 3.5 – 4 OZ and you should try to drink Rov Kos, which is 1.8 oz about.
Don’t forget… only do what you are comfortably able to do DO NOT PUSH YOURSELF.
Even if you do nothing, it is fine. God will be here next year and will patiently wait to hear from you then.
If you can only do one thing try eating a Kazayit Matzah.
If you are on a liquid diet, don’t eat Matzah or Marror.
Chag Sameach!
I was released from the hospital on Tuesday afternoon. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for walking me through this difficult time. I was in the hospital ruminating night and day about all the Passover preparations that weren’t going to get done. You took all the pressure off me and I am profoundly grateful.
— Mrs. Michael Varon (Rina Mizrahi-Varon)
Glad to hear. Chag Sameach!
