Eating utensils occasionally used on heat

Hi, for our regular eating utensils (forks, spoons, knives), we may once in a while use it directly on a pot or pan on the stove, but that is not close to the primary use.  Does that mean they need to be kashered, or do we go by the primary use, which is eating things...
