I heard you mention in a podcast episode that we generally don’t cancel rabbinic laws? (I’m assuming that means from the Sanhedrin)
1. Why is that a general rule (that we don’t cancel them)? Especially if nowadays it probably wouldn’t have been created.
2. If we do cancel certain ones, why those?

There was an extensive process to create the law initially. There is a very limited amount of Rabbinic laws that made it through this process. If it comes and goes as the wind blows, then these laws would never take hold and this would not do its purpose. In most cases we do not cancel Rabbinic law. There are a few exceptions.
