Here is a perfect example of the disconnect between Halachah and what communal and corporate Judaism has become.
Halachah says that when you are traveling, you are exempt from eating in a Sukkah.
So naturally, what do we invent?
A “Travel Sukkah.” 😂
Apparently, even when the Halachah gives you the day off, we need to find a way to put you back to work.
This is part of a much bigger problem. We have somehow developed the idea that being more religious means always doing more, adding more restrictions, and finding ways to avoid every exemption.
But sometimes the most religious thing you can do is simply follow the Halachah as it was written.
If the Halachah says you’re exempt, you’re exempt. You don’t need a rabbinic engineering department to figure out how to become obligated again. 😂
