It is not forbidden. We took some extra time to research the flavor of modern day rennet and it has no flavor. Not a kashrut problem. If you see a link where I said to avoid it, let me know and I’ll add an update.
thank you Rabbi – as you asked: the Parmesan Q&A says it needs to be labeled vegetarian (https://kashrut.org/parmesan/) and the Italian restaurant guide says cheese is permitted only if vegetarian. Just sharing so you can add the update.
Why did you think this in the first place? And is there any cheese which is absolutely forbidden?
