Hi Rabbi. Suppose that i am at a hotel that serves breakfast in the morning. Based on what I have learned here, I would be able to have the scrambled eggs provided that it is vegetarian. Correct? Do I need to investigate if the pot with the eggs was used for meat the prior day? In general, are we not concerned with flavor from a ben yomo pot? Isn’t the whole reason to be careful with a ben yomo pot becuase of the flavor that it would transmit? If so would this be batel? Can you please clarify this? Thank you.

No need to worry. First of all we say “Stam Keilim Ainum Beney Yoman” which means that when you are not the one using the pot, you can assume that it is not Ben yomo. There are those that negates that in the case of a hotel/restaurant. The frying pan making the eggs is constantly kashering itself by being used for the overwhelming majority of eggs that do not have meat. A hotel would not use a dirty meat frying pan and say don’t worry it is vegetarian. They’ll be out of business and end up with lawsuits. If you happen to see them taking a meat frying pan, ask them to use another. There are several other reasons.
