Mina brand olives are packed in water and salt. They carry an OU, but OU says, “Kosher, not for Passover.” Lama lo? Where is the hashash for hamets?

You are right. It is dishonest. Kashrut organizations charge extra for Kosher for Passover symbol. If you don’t pay the price, they say things like “Kosher – not for Passover “. It’s how they make their money.
