by Abraham Chairez | Dec 26, 2025 | Shabbat & Yom Tov

Hello Rabbi, First of all I want to tell you that I am sorry for your loss. May the memory of your father and his Torah continue to be a blessing. I want to ask you a couple of questions about Shabbat observance and it’s limits: What is the Torah level...

Pre-Cut toilet paper in the Restroom on Shabbat

by Abraham Chairez | Dec 14, 2025 | Shabbat & Yom Tov

Shalom, I read that Rabbi Ovadia Yosef in Yabia Omer 9:108:185 mentioned that cutting Toilet paper on Shabbat is not a Torah prohibition and that he is theoretically lenient about it. Are we really supposed to pre-cut toilet paper before Shabbat?

by Aaron Abadi | Sep 20, 2025 | Modesty & Personal Issues, Shabbat & Yom Tov

These are some of the important halachot for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Keep them simple and meaningful, and don’t overdo it — the goal is connection and joy, not exhaustion. 🕍 Mikvah & Preparation Mikvah is optional. It’s a minhag, not a halachic requirement....

Shalom Rav Do you mind elaborating on your website vs. Oheltorah? There seems to be a discrepancy. I have read posts on OhelTorah where people have asked about eating out, and the response the one asking got "One may NOT eat fish or pasta at a non-kosher restaurant."...

The Beracha on Pizza — Hamotzi or Mezonot?

Hi Rabbi, I heard that there are people who make a mezonot for less than 2 slices of pizza but hamotzi for more than that and there are people who make hamotzi on even 1 slice. Can you please clarify this halacha? Thank you.
