Spotting but not Niddah

Hello Rabbi. I have a question regarding a situation where a husband and wife have past the 2 abstination periods and the wife is starting to spot but not enough to render her niddah. Should they abstain at that point or is there no need to? Thank you.

A general question regarding flavored whey protein powders. There are not  many brands that come with a hechsher. Do they need hechsher? Specific brand I'm looking at is Clean Simple. Thank you!
