I have seen a few posts in the Q&A Section in which you have said (if I understand correctly) that during Shabbat, one may do things like type in a door-code on an electronic keypad to enter an apartment building or stream movies. My general question is: when (if ever) does that type of activity cause one to run afoul of the prohibition on writing and erasing? For example, is one engaging in prohibited writing if one: types in a door-code on an electronic keypad that displays the numbers you type; types the name of a movie in order to fetch it from the streaming service; writes a text message on a cell phone; or types out the URL of a website? If I start typing in my door-code, realize I made a typo, and press the delete button, am I engaging in improper erasing? Am I erasing if I start typing the name of the movie I want to stream and then delete it? Thank you.
