My son may be flying next sunday from the pacific coast of the US to Europe. Flight takes off in afternoon local time and mands the next morning. Should he count on the plane? Any time when it is dark would be good? Or how else should he do? Thank you very much

Going from Los Angeles to Paris, for example, is not too complicated. If you leave at 1:00pm on Sunday, you arrive 9am on Monday. Anytime after dark, you can make the Bracha and say the count. If you forget or you are sleeping and it becomes light outside, then make the count without a Bracha and you’re good.
