Does the Rav consider non-mevushal wine to be what is needed for kiddush/havdalah l’chathilah? A hiddur? Unnecessary? I realize that very few brands that advertise “not mevushal” are nevertheless pasteurized to a temperature that qualifies them as mevushal.

Mevushal is fine.
There was a time when mevushal was a lesser quality.
Today you can pay $50 for a bottle and it’s still Mevushal.
There’s no difference today.
Grape Juice is fine too.
