When boiling and koshering pots 

does the water have to boil over the sides of the pot? Or can we just bring the water to boil and spill it out?

  1. The lids to the pots are glass with a metal rim
    Is this the way I kosher them as well? Just by covering the boiling water and letting it steam up?

  2. Don’t boil over. You can even just put a third of the pot water, then cover it, bring it to a boil, and allow it to steam up for a minute or two.
