Can you elaborate on why this is kosher for Pesach for ashkenazim who don’t typically eat rice?
Sure. Kitniyot is just a minhag (a Custom). The real issue on Pesach is Chametz.
Built in to the custom of Kitniyot is the caveat that it is Batel in Rov. It says that very clearly in Halachah. Which means if a product has a bit more than 50% non-Kitniyot, and less than 50% Kitniyot, the Kitniyot is Batel, meaning it is rendered irrelevant. Some feel like they want to be extra strict. Being extra strict about this, is just plain silly.
