Can I extrapolate from this that if I stay with someone who doesn’t keep kosher, as long as I don’t help with any actual cooking, I don’t have to kasher the keilim?

Your concern is if there is a flavor left over from non-kosher food. Stam Keilim Ainum Benei Yomam says that the flavor is not there.
