Subject:  Chad Gadya
Message:  Do I have to sing Chad Gadya at the Seder? I truly detest the lyrics and especially the tune.

If yes, why? And how can I stop hating it so much?

Thanks for all of your hard work! We love you!
Reply:  Watch out and don't detest anything like this. These lyrics have very deep Kabalistic meanings. The tune however didn't come with it. The Sefer Shu"t Chaim Sha'al A #28 speaks very strongly against someone who ridicules the Chad Gadya.

You don't have to sing it, but don't detest it....
It is a tribute to our redemption. There are multiple meanings to it.
