Message:	Thanks I believe you have answered my question....would be carrying a lunch in a bag or basket to a public park...it's a no-no. Thank you. Previous Message...... Message: I guess what I am asking is if a picnic is permissable on Shabbat......we would take an already prepared sandwich type lunch and put it into a canvas bag/picnic basket and walk to a park to eat. Meaning foods would all be prepared as if we were sharing them at home for Shabbat...difference would be we now want to put them in a bag or basket and walk to a park to eat. Reply: Is there an Eruv? How do you carry it there? Is it all surrounded by a fence? Taking a picnic box from point A to point B is carrying. AA

Reply:	Correct unless you are in a community with a eruv like Yerushalayim of old. CYA
