Message:  In Jewish history, I learned that in the past, about R' Akiva's time, many Rabbanim were soft-spoken, but many Rabbanim defended the Torah in a harsh manner. If AA is following in their steps by defending the Torah, let him chose which way he sees fit!
Reply:  Very well said, but I want to clarify one thing. All the Rabbanim would speak out against things that are wrong. Just some have different methods. A Rabbi that does not speak out, is not a Rabbi (so says the good book).
