Subject:  The Missing Chicken Leg
Message:  Shavua Tov, I had come across a difficult kashrut question in Rabbi Yisroel Reisman's sefer Pathways of The Prophets (pg. 409)~ A woman came to the Rav with a bruised chicken leg and after inspection it was declared trief. The other chicken legs in the package (which this nonkosher right chicken leg had come from) were ok. However the rest of the chicken legs were also righty, and a chicken has only on right leg. However where was the missing left chicken leg that wasnt kosher roaming around? Aside from all other parts of this chicken being out there we cant say that its botul berov, b/c its clearly recognizable and hence the shichita source where this trief chicken had originated from would make a safek of all chicken legs... However if we say that Kol Dporish Mai'rubah porish applies here, then any chicken removed from the shechita warehouse BEFORE this chicken was discovered is ok, as opposed to after... Any solutions?? ~THANKS ;-)
