Subject:  Zacapa Rum/ Batel B'Sheish
Message:  Dear R. Abadi,

If a rum has been aged in a few different sherry, cognac and wine casks. Would it become a problem to have it? If yes, after how many different casks does it become a problem? I know that in the case of some single malt whiskeys since they were only aged in one cask it was not an issue. The following is an email from Diageo:
Zacapa rums are not blended with cognac, sherry or wine but are aged in a series of casks that previously stored robust bourbons, delicate sherries and fine Pedro Ximenez wines. We do not have kosher certificates for Zacapa products.

Again, thank you for all the good you're doing for all of us.

Reply:  Kosher.
Yes, Batel Be'Sheish.
