Subject:  koshering a kitchen
Message:  I am new to keeping kosher. Do you publish or endorse a step by step process for turning a kitchen/utensils that have formerly cooked treif into a kosher kitchen?

Some things I have read on other sites basically say I have to throw out anything I have that is ceramic, stoneware (even glazed!), corningware, pyrex, plastic, non-stick coated, etc... That seems so over the top.

I could weed through every posting on your site, but if there is a condensed guide, it would be of much help!

Thank you.

Reply:  Above is a blue & white menu bar. Click on 'Halacha' and go to 'kashering'. Then before you throw anything out, tell us which utensil you are not sure of and what it was used for and at what stage of heat (cooked in, used in a pot, always used col, etc..
