Message:  1. Rav Moshe's psak on women being allowed to expose up to a tephach of hair has come to be defined in many communities as allowing hair up to the width of two fingers at the hairline. Doesn't a tephach measure length, not area? Can you explain where the 2 finger measurement comes from?

2. What sources allow women to uncover more than a tephach? Such as wearing a hat, but letting the hair lose on the bottom or wearing the common yarmulke fall.

3. I've seen some women in their houses take their hair covering off if there's 2 or less men (not including immediate family) in the house. What is the source for that?

Thank you in advance for any insight you can provide.
Reply:  1. Never happened. It is a distortion of the facts. Read the Teshuvos and you'll see why.
2. No idea.
3. Nowadays, it is not acceptable in most communities and therefore assur. Maybe another time we'll explain, when time constraints allow.
