Message:  On the Birkat ha-Mazon your father prepared, I found what appears to be a discrepancy between the Hebrew and English. In the Hebrew it says that you can use this version even le-khathilah, but in the English it says that if you are unable to say the longer version you should say the shorter version (then it adds: even initially as a first choice, which seems to contradict what was said previously)

So what is it, can one say this version if one likes, or is it only if one is unable to say the longer version? Thank you for clarifying this.
