Subject:      davening for the amud
Message:      Can someone who is sephardic (who davens in his own sephardic nusach in an ashkenazik shul) nevertheless change his nusach as shliach tzibbur when davening for the amud in a shul that davens nusach ashkenaz?

Subject:      Davening for the amud
Message:      Forgive me for posting this question again, but I've posted it twice over the last two months and have not seen it answered yet in the forum. My question concerns whether or not a sefardic jew that goes to a shul that davens nusach ashkenaz can daven for the amud (i.e be the shliach tzibbur) if approached to do so by the gabbai.

Reply:      Yes, but stick to the local Nusach.

Reply:  The clarification and official psak is as follows:
My father recommends that he does not daven for the amud. However, if he does for whatever reason(i.e. nobody else wants to, etc.) then he should daven with the local nusach.
Thanks for keeping us on our toes!
