Subject:  lost item
Message:  2 years ago I found an expensive piece of jewelry in a parking lot of a jewish store. I advertised in several local papers for anyone who lost something to call and claim it. 2 years have passed. Can I donate it to a chinese auction or give it to a poor bride? My husband asked his chavrusa last year who said that since its not mine I can't wear it or donate it. I just have to hold on to it. What do you say?

Reply:  I say that if your husband's Chavrusa (study partner) is a qualified Rabbi, why ask me? If he is not, then the asking him and his answering is a bigger problem than the Jewelry.

You can keep it.
