I will be going on vacation soon to a hotel in the Caribbean and will need to figure out what to bring for Shabbat food. I could do the usual cold cuts/challah rolls solution, but I have recently heard of some kind of very unique thing that is sold in the kosher supermarkets and was wondering if it's allowed on Shabbat. Basically, its an entre that does not need to be frozen or even refrigerated and then, when ready to use, you sort of crack it open or something bizarre like that and suddenly it heats itself somehow. Are you familiar with this thing? It seems like a perfect solution for Kosher food while traveling, but I don't think it is okay for Shabbat. Am I right?
