Message:  I want to thank you for the excellent post re: mikveh.
I only wish you'd have time to give such broad answers to all the questions. But I know you don't have the time for this.

Kol Hakovod for your work.

I'm from the same camp as you, a Yeshiva Talmid watching Yiddishkeit get hijacked by too many people who don't have the real feel for what Hashem wants, and who get caught up in all sorts of external shtussim.

Chumros are fine for those on the proper madreiga to observe them, but they don't need to be foisted on everyone else, especially when the rationale for the chumros is not properly explained or appropriate to the situation.

One small question. Which "Chatzitzos" must one be careful of when doing the homemade mikveh thing?

Reply:  For those who are not familiar with that word, Chatzitzah is something on your body seperating between the water and your body.

Things that are normally there and are not removed for any reason are not a Chatzitzah.

This would include nail polish if in good condition.

Otherwise, the item should be removed before immersing in the water. An example of a Chatzizah would be a ring or a watch.

Which items do you feel might be a Chatzitzah, that you ask this question?
